Key responsibilities

  • Work with Tools and SW teams and derive clear HW architecture requirements document
  • Develop detailed Programming Reference Model documents covering current and new processor instructions for various application domains
  • Generate high level sub-system models
  • Perform thorough benchmarks and performance analysis at System, Cluster and Block levels focusing on latency, bandwidth and memory utilization issues (Code Size, Data memory)
  • Create small applications and CCTs to validate new architectures and designs
  • Assist in developing key high level verification components at transaction level
  • Work on porting architectures and validating performance on FPGA platforms including XBF creation and application debug
  • Assist the board team by creating Proof-Of-Concept specifications and plans
  • Create and maintain high level architecture schedules
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams for future architecture enhancements and other customer change requests
  • Architect ARC’s next generation processor (ARC 6000) with other key HW architects in the company
  • RTL coding, Synthesis & block level verification

Education/Experience Required:



Requirements (MUST)

  • Minimum of 8 years industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. MSc desired.
  • Good understanding of processor architecture, critical paths and modules
  • Familiar with Audio and Video architectures and applications (Codecs)
  • Familiar with control and data paths. Candidate must be able to debug design and architectural issues
  • Fluent in C, C++ and other scripting languages (Tcl, Perl)
  • Fluent in Verilog Coding and entire design process (Front end)
  • Familiar with multimedia accelerators (SIMD, DMAC, Caches)
  • Familiar with CPU Tools ( ISS, Compilers, debuggers) and flows
  • Good level of English (writing reports, documentation, reading specifications, communicating with foreign colleagues)
  • Must be flexible to travel internationally
  • Understand Coverage Driven Verification. e/Specman knowledge is a plus
